Working With Shadows???

Can someone please advise me the best process for removing the shadow created by the chalk board? I don’t want to remove all shadows, but this one produces an awkward looking straight line.

Thanks for any help!!

Turn off cast shadows for the chalkboard? hard to see/ understand what you don’t like from that small picture. ")

You probably want to let people know if your using cycles or BI. There are different methods of having objects not cast shadows.

It’s hard to see on your tiny image, but I’m not sure that the black thing is a shadow. It intersects with the bear, so it seems like is part of the plane that has the image of the chalkboard. Reduce the size of the plane to fit properly and grow the image (by editing the UV) so there’s no black border.
But again… not enough information on the post…

Cegaton, you were exactly correct…the “shadow” actually was the plane. I had scaled it along the X and Z axis, rather than a proportional scaling - thus, the plane was larger than the image. Thanks to the other responders as well - next time I will remember to include render engine info.

Great forum, with lots of expertise!!
