World Background Texture Reflections

Does anyone know if it is possible to reflect the World background texture off of a reflective object? I can get nearby objects to reflect. Just not the starfield background.

I’m trying to produce a quality spherical background starmap to replace Blender’s internal starfield generator (which flashes annoyingly with camera motion during video renders) by still making use of that starfield generator. One of the easiest ways I could come up with is simulating HDR reflective dome photography techniques in Blender. It’s not a trivial problem.


Starfield and Halo do not reflect. However, you can assign a starmap to the world as an angular map and it should reflect. Do a search on Angular Maps on this board and you will find a how to.
