Worn-out Shoe. Substance Painter UDIM + Cycles

Hi,

my name is Maik! I would say I’m a beginner in modelling and texturing. I’m new to this forum too. Made this shoe in 3dsmax and used UDIM for UV’s and textured in Substance Painter. Rendered in Blender Cycles.

I have not done much in Blender but want to switch to it.

Critics welcome!

Greetings Maik

A very good result to me, compliments!
The only suggestion I have is to make the strings a little less white, now they look burned by light.

Super well done! Did you paint the textures entirely, or did you use base materials? UDIMS are so cool, I hope they come to blender someday :grin:

Really good job! I agree with the comment about the laces. i also think the black stains on the forward facing part of the toe should run up on to the top of the toe as well - they stop at the stitching. if water got in the gap to cause the stain, it would be soaked up outwards from the crease, so the black mark would be on both sides of the stitching. You would probably also get some along the edge of the the leather where it meets the rubber, from stepping puddles for a year or two.

Thank you for your comments. I did some changes and added some particles to the laces. Did a bit Photoshop too.

@Linkun

Used base materials but all the damage, scratches and stitches are painted.

I think I get what you mean but sadly it’s not possible to paint across UV tiles in painter. Because of this problem, I will try Mari 4 non-commercial next.

Wow, that surprises me. You could also give Body Paint 3D a go, that can do it. Theres a full functioning trial available.
