how can I wrap a rope (cylinder profile) around a not too complex object? Best would be to have a starting and an end point - between both the rope would stretch, following the object’s outline. - I tried with shrink-wrap, but always end up with flat profiles…
so how did you do your rope? Is it a mesh with Array and Curve modifier? In that case you can enable the Snap option so that the curve vertices stick to the surface of the object? Please give more informations, share the file if you can: https://pasteall.org/blend/
Thank you all very much for your help. Deadline of the project is over and in the end I dealt with a mediocre workaround. But next time I’ll give “3d-wrapping-tools” a try - that seems to fit best my needs.
