wrinkly pencil sketch

Been doing these really odd (and kinda creepy looking) face sketches recently… figured I’d post one of 'em:

I did something similar in clay recently, it scared the crap out of me so I turned it into a clay tree. Must be getting close to Halloween. Nice work.

Looks great. I do alot of dark stuff too. Not enough people do if you ask me.

not enough people do it well; too many people do it poorly.

this is not a poor job, well done.

Nice work. Is there a reason you are doing alot of faces lately ? Not that it is a sign of paranoia (which it may be).
I was recently reading about a phenomenon (which I can’t recall the name of) that explains that the human face is the easiest image for the mind to remember. This idea was supported by an experiment, where a group of 35 people were give pieces of crumpled paper. The group was then instructed to draw whatever they “saw” in the wrinkles of the surface. 32 of the people returned drawings of distorted faces.

The most interesting part of this study is that the group was comprised of troubled teens…none of which had shown any previous artistic ability.

I can see that you have artistic abilty…and, hey. Isn’t everyone troubled ?
I agree with Modron. Not enough people do “dark stuff”.
I like to think of it as romantisizing evil.

I’ve always had a thing for faces… in particular, the eye area. It’s the only part of the human body that holds any interest for me [artisticly]. It’s only recently - the last few months - that my face drawings have taken a turn toward the creepy, stretched, wrinkly look.

Thanks for the compliments.
