there seem to be some hidden verts. press “alt-h” to reveal. (you hide with “h”. unfortunately right beneath the “g”-key, so it gets accidentally hit quite easily. )
edit: and maybe you are using the mirror-modifier?
It looks like it is another object. If so tab into object mode and select it.
It could also be hidden;…if that is the case stay in the selected object and hit alt-h to unhide it.
