Ton, great to hear the first positive Blender news this year and I wish you the best of luck. I think the direction you want to persue is correct given the circumstances and stormy history, particularly if you still want to provide a free tool for budding 3D artists. If I may be so bold, my one bit advice would be to stay fully focused on users requirements and not get too ambitious this time around (should be easier without commercial pressures from investors). For everyone one else I would say that you have to be prepared for the long haul and expect this to take at the very least 6 months to a year for resolving and then moving ahead.

I just looked at the blender3d page. Very cool. Very Good News™. My finger was itching over the PayPal donation button, but I think I’ll wait until I can read the Foundation’s Statutes first. Not that I don’t trust Ton, I just… I’ll wait to read them first.
I hope Ton is still able to put bread on the table.

I’ll make a first donation as soon as possible, cause I consider that I am in debt to Ton for the fun I already had. For subsequent donations though, I’ll need to know what I’m getting for my money.
