Where does one get x11 for Leopard. I’m having trouble using inkscape and gimp on osx 10.5
Google it. I’m not sure where I got it, but if it makes you feel better, it works, and it exists
IS it no more on the install disk?
It used to be on it amongst the extra folders…
Good luck!
PS. I read something about some next Gimp version to be able to run natively on OSX without the extra Unix install (as OSX is now full Unix).
Other applications don’t require it either, i’ve been noticing. i.e. open office (neo office is the native mac version). I guess it’s just a matter of time before they’re all native.
The install disks ring a bell btw. Check there.
So does this mean that you can use input devices with The Gimp on Mac now?
My iMac came with X11 already installed on OSX 10.5 I imagine that it must then be on the install disk somewhere…
10.5 comes with X11. It’s one the Mac OSX Install Disc 1 in the EXTRA SOFTWARE folder. Even if it is “extra” software it is TRULY Essential to us BA.
but does this mean that ill be able to get device support with the gimp now?
In principle, yes, you should be able to do this.
