X3D or game engine

I opened a new thread for a simple task but maybe here it could be discussed, too – or even better.

Here’s my task in full length. I need to create a room with textures dynamically and want to walk throught it. I wonder what’s better: to create a X3D (XML) file and open it in a viewer or use Blender’s game engine?

I don’t know if I can transform (size, position, textures) objects in a .blend file when using the game engine and entering the world… perhaps a Python script can do so. Therefore I need a little help.

Texture scaling/movement is very possible with blender if you have knowledge of python.
