Hi,
I am in the process of archiving my photographs (several thousand) and adding metadata. I don’t know whether to store in IPTC or XMP.
I have question for everyone. Do you think Adobe XMP metadata is going to the the future metadata standard?
Please state your reasoning.

I believe that IPTC has stopped being developed because of the use of XML, which is the foundation of XMP. If XMP is a open enough (read: a text file), then that data should always be recoverable.
