Sorry to cross post, but someone over in the general forum suggested I might have more luck here:

I’m trying to track down some information on Blender’s native .blend file format. I’d like to implement a .blend importer in my own game engine, but can’t find any information whatsoever - the documentation seems strangely lacking in this area.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Dont do it- use a python format.
  2. If your dead keen mase it on blenders existing loader Code- SDNA or somthing. its hard enough to do that AKAIK 1 person has only used the native Blend format EVER outside Blender its self - According to Theeth Eshlo used a Blender parser for a lightflow pluging.
