xtra-pc thing - anyone use it?

I fell victim to click-bait and found this https://www.xtra-pc.com/
Did some searching and found that it is Linux on a thumb-drive.
Found posts that most think it is absurd to charge for a free OS.
My argument is that sometimes I just want to use a tool to get something done. I don’t want to mess with the details, just turn it on and it works. So, in this case if I want to give Linux a try, I don’t want to find the download, create a bootable USB drive, find all the drivers and so forth - so, it might be worth the $25 to pay someone else to set it all up for me.

When I buy flashing Christmas lights, I don’t want to know (actually sometimes I do) how the flashing stuff works, or the number of lumens each bulb produces - I just want them to flash and look nice.

So, anyone try this thing? Have any opinion about it?

IMO, you’re spreading the disease - click-bait. Stay in quarantine until you get well. Feeling better?
:eyebrowlift:

Oh sorry - I thought it was a real, actual product. Never mind.

Or if you want a more trusted (or at least, better-known) provider, you can buy a USB drive with Ubuntu on it right from the Ubuntu shop for £5.99.

A number of other distros offer similar USB drives on their websites as well. Probably better to go with them than this other site that doesn’t seem to give very much detail about what you’re buying.

intel compute stick is a whole tiny pc on a hdmi dongle

I wonder of they will support external gpu soon?

And it is much cheaper - thanks - I’ll look into that.
