YACS (chess set)

:stuck_out_tongue: work in progress (hence posting it here:)

  • this is my first attempt at a chess set

  • I am very new to blender, i have had it for a while just have not learned how to use it yet  so if you have any advice at all please be very specific and give detailed information on how to make the changes.

  • I use the glass settings: turn on raytrans, IOR= 1.5, Alpha= .200, spec= 0, turn on ray mir, raymir= .2 as i saw sugested on another thread.

  • I had to figure this out all on my own as I could not find a decent tutorial for making chess set that was not a video tutorial (im on dialup videos take way to long to download :frowning: )

hope you enjoy

ok and here is the latest update:

and here is the latest update:

thanks a bunch more updates to come

For your glass, turn the alpha down to 0, spec = 1.4 hard = 240. Cool looking pawns!

I’ll have to make those adjustments, but for the moment here is the latest update for my render… (ill put it in the orginal post)

oh my i tried it with those settings, way to clear/glass like not the effect im going for. I like the color’d or opaque glass look that I have here

I will be using those settings for my next project which will call for realistic looking glass…

updated the set of pictures, the last one is a bit blurry/grainy when i brightened it in Paint Shop, that effect will be gone when i finish the set and work on lighting

no thoughts huh?
