Hello all, this is my first post here on BlenderArtists.org and I have a question. sorry for being a “n00b” I have just recently downloaded YafaRay for Ubuntu, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to work with Blender. Now, I am not very good with blender yet but I hope to get better later. I have created a simple wine glass and want to render it using yafaray. I did this on windows when I had it, but now, on Ubuntu it is a little more difficult. any help would be great =)
I assume you mean Blender 2.49b
It would be best to start blender from a terminal and see what error(s) you are getting.
(Not sure at what stage you are at, but assuming you’ve followed the install instructions at their home page).
If you get an error like: “error: qt GUI not initialized while using yafaray”, you need to add the qt4-dev lib using Synaptic Package manager.
