YafRay and particles rendering

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m a noobie to this 3D animation thing. I just downloaded the newest version of yafray 0.0.9 and blender 2.43 and I have been going through the Wiki book tutorials trying to learn the basics. Everything has been going great until I tried to do the tutorial involving the halo option using particles to create smoke. When I try to render using yafray I get nothing. No particles just my background. I have tried changing several settings but have been unable to see anything. When I switch to the blender internal render it works fine. Does yafray not support particles or halo? I just started this so forgive me if this is a stupid question :o . By the way here is a link to the tutorial that I’m having a problem with.

Yafray doesn’t support particles yet. There has been some attempts, but nothing substantial. Just have to wait and see if they come up with something. Halo can be sorta achieved with yafray’s new Glow lamp, it’s a regular lamp where you can increase the glow intensity - you’ll see the sliders in the lamp options with yafray selected as renderer. Making smoke in Yafray doesn’t happen though, people are just photoshopping that part.

Thanks! I was really getting frustrated. lol.

sad…
I guess they can close this rope now.
