well, is it possible?
Sure it is, from the Yable or Extractor scripts.

Keep in mind though that the yafray file format does not yet support animation, so it renders sequence by export each single frame individually. Other than using more disk space, this method makes it impossible to have motion blur.
Martin
so you can, but it sucks, right?
No no, it’s very good. It just doesn’t have motion blur. The disadvantage of using more disc space is really nullified if you use linked geometry (if the geometry is included in external files, not in the xml directly).

I just did a short anim of some transparent stuff with yafray/extractor this morning, and it looked great, the only pain is you have to go through and seperate the tga’s from the xml’s before loading them into the sequence editor, but really it’s quite the nice result.
I heard that there are some filters to add motion blur in Virtualdub : are they any good ?

I just tried one for the sake of it, and it looks pretty neat.
