Here’s my first attempts at yafray. I just added a body to Suzanne, and tested out some renders. This is my first posted work, what do you guys think? Making a mirror proved to be the hardest part, it’s tough to get clear reflections. I’m still very new at it, I can’t for the life of me understand lighting in yafray, ie. where to put caustic lights, diffuse lights, and everything in between. I hope new tutorials and docs will come out. Critiques are welcome, but no promises on fixing them, I’ve kinda worn myself out with this pic…
looks good for your first try (my first try wasn’t as good).
Looks great to me jsut 1 thing, he suzzanne doesnt seem to be touching te table surface with her ass. Is she floating?
Great job for a first try. I remember trying out POVray a few years ago and the results were not pretty…
The only comment I have is that you might try reducing the reflectivity of the model. Right now it is a little CG-chrome overkill - I don’t know how many non-Blender users would even recognize what that head is meant to be in the present state.
Best of luck with Yafray.
Have you tried the new ‘tir’ option in yafray 0.0.5? It renders glass objects much better. Random example picked from yafray forum:
nope, I don’t believe I’ve tried that. I’ll try fooling around with it now, there goes any chance of productiveness for today, lol.
