Did you check you television model for double vertices or ghosts (copies of an object you forgot to remove)?
If you want to make sure it is not the model, try replacing the tely using a simple plane with the same material as the screen. If the problem persist, please send you settings details for the material.

Ok there are no doubles. The screen is made of 2 surfaces with a small gap in between. The one in front is for the reflection of the glass, and the one behind is for the grey dull reflection you also see in tv screens.
I’ve recreated the TV with just 2 plains (on the left in the render).
If the camera is close then the problem isn’t so bad:

But if the camera is moved back the problem is worse:

Any help would be appreciated.
Try increasing the Ray Depth in the Yafray render tab. Experiment with values greater than 5 (say 20 or greater).
If you turn off cache in YaFray render settings, i think problem will go away. Cached rendering is not suitable for production (final) renders, it just for preview, imho.
2planes, therefore it’s like a panel of glass right? i’m not totally sure, but make sure the normals point to the inside of the pane, not inthe same direction(wold make an example, but i dont have the time right now.) also, try turning up the gi quality and depth.
It is probably the ray depth and cache indeed. Try it with ray depth of 10 to 20 and use cache with care. Increasing the ray depth will slow down the render but provide better results. I would not try more unless you are going for a final render. Depending on your machine it can dramatically increase render time. Normally these stains should dissapear or at least be less noticable with deeper rays. It will also reduce the amount of stains on the walls’ corners.

Shwarnas - Turning cache off fixes the problem, but creates a whole new one. The renders are really grainy, which looks proper shite. Took an age to render too so i cancelled it in the end:

Coalth - They are 2 seperate planes, but I don’t think that’s the issue here.
jaycun + TheWood - I’ve bumped the Depth up to 10 which doesn’t look like it’s helped:

I tried one with the cache precision at 6 which looks better:

I must admit I haven’t much time to spend on this project at the moment. I’ll render a few more when I get a chance during the week.
Hehe :] That’s yafray… Grainy is because of poor quality. If this is production render you will do it with lower raydepth, but quality >= medium. If your hardware can’t make it at reasonable time - use renderplanet or something. Good raytraycing takes lots of time.
I believe you are using the skydome method, which is indeed grainy if you are not setting it to very high quality. Try the full method. It is slower but gives better results (You might need to tweak the lights power a little in that case. In most of my render I have to decrease the light power when switching from skydome to full method).
Shwarnas: Don’t be so bad to yafray :0) , it gives great results if you spend some time on it. And this is still a 0.0.8 version…
But I agree it can be frustrating sometime if you are used to Blender’s internal render engine (with all the respect to the great work yafray developpers have done so far).
