I have been trying to get Yafray to work with the official version of Blender 2.48. However even when I install yafray and all of the files required of it to work, I get this error.
Scene conversion done.
Couldn’t FIND registry key for yafray, is it installed?
Error loading yafray plugin: The specified module could not be found.
What and where is the registry key? And how do I change the path to it?
0.1.0 It looked like it had more features. If I have to reinstall yafray the older version, will I have to do all of the QT libraries installations and there was some library from 2005 that needed to be installed. I was installing on Windows Xp.
So how do I get it to install correctly? That menu is not showing up on my XP computer at work. And what new features are in Yafray since 2006? It was a bit slow and tricky to use.
Yaf(a)Ray binaries (yafaray-r287-win32.exe). Default installation proposed for Yaf(a)Ray binaries will be C:\Program Files\YafaRay (or the equivalent folder in your respective OS language)
In the same installation process, some Yaf(a)Ray python scripts should be installed in the Blender scripts folder, wherever it is. The installer will look for it and tell you where it is found. Lately Blender scripts folder (in a Win default installation) is located in c:/documents and settings/{user}/Application data/Blender Foundation/blender (or the equivalent folder in your respective OS language)
Alternatively you can point the installer to the Blender executable folder, usually in C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender. The installer will create a scripts folder there with the Yaf(a)Ray scripts. This will work too.
A separate installer for the Render Window QT libraries (qt_setup.exe). They must be installed in the Blender executable folder, usually in C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender (or the equivalent folder in your respective OS language)
Everything is explained in the installation process anyway, please pay attention to what the installer is telling you in each installation step.
