yafray render noise

I have a question about rendering with yafray. take a look at this picture

i’ve uesd full GI and medium quality. but the result is noisy. Where can I tweak some setting so it’s not this noisy?

Also, can someone tell me how to use image based lighting (maybe it’s called HDRI, i’m not sure about terminologies) with yafray? I just can’t get the angular map ( angmapX.jpg from this post https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24738 , thanks [email protected] ) working with yafray. the background appears streched. With the same setting the background looks good in blender internal renderer. (angmap, affect hori)

Thanks in advance.

go to

http://www.debevec.org/Probes/

and load them into a texture / image channel in the world material.

that noise is pretty nasty. i hardly get that but that might be because of my scenes.

putfile.com/cekuhnen/

the lower images are made with yafray and look pretty clean.

Thanks for the quick reply.
i tried the Eucalyptus Grove .hdr image, but it gives strange results. :-?

this is the render with the hdr image as a world texture.

this is the same scene with out the hdr image.

why is the one with hdr so dark? is yafray ignoring my light setting? also the background does not show the image, just dark. hmmmm…
