With Yafray virtually dead, I don’t see a clear alternative to obtain photorealistic renderings from Blender.
I’ve tried Indigo, but it’s so slooooooow, and needs a lot of manual edition.
Any ideas?

Quite amazing. Lynx ist the man (Note to self: need to check out Blendernation more often).
And about “alternatives” to photorealistic rendering: I’d not call the alternatives, you can and should try them out, to find what works best for you. I’m talking not only about Indigo (which is very different from Yafray actually) but also and especially about Sunflow (very promising!) and Kerkythea. Other stuff like Pixie or Aqsis might be worth more than one look as well.
