I was recently inspired by a model train set to try to make a train. Here’s the only car I’ve gotten done so far.
Comments anyone?

Well done. Excellent attention to detail.
I think you should work on your lighting though. Would make this come more to life. Use a 3 point setup, or a Fake GI dome. Will really help this model.

if you’d work on the lighting a little, you might be able to bring out more of the detail. right now it looks pretty much flat.
Like the others, I think the lighting could use a bit of work.
From what I have read, you want to get your blacks and your whites to not lose detail. The first thing that stood out to me was that the wheels and related hardware seemed black to the point of losing detail. At least on my monitor they look like flat black cut-outs.
Also, I think the yellow material needs a little work. It looks more plastic than metal to me. Perhaps the material is too even.
But overall nice work.
hmmmm, as for the comments on lighting, it looks toon shaded to me… anyway, cool car, i wanna see more!
I have some close up shots I took of a train at the railyard the other day. I’d be glad to post them if you’d like a look.
The length seems out of proportion in terms of scale. Diesel soot and graffiti would be a nice addition. I like the mapping and the rivet details. Overall, I like it.
I’ll assume it’s toon shaded. Then I’ll ask why. Was there a reason to do this, or is it just to look cool (it does look cool, by the way)? I’d like to see a detail of the wheels. Maybe play with materials on that. What’s the purpose of this model? If we know that, then we might better know what it’s supposed to look like. I’d like to see it in a scene.
looks alright, as said, lighing needs work, and needs like a little dirt and stuff, even if its a toy… bevel some edges as well, keep going
