I love the modelling details and Lights.

That’s totally cool. (!!!)

@ndy first cool render :o 3 questions…

  1. What version of blender did you use?

  2. What renderer did you use with that blender?

  3. How did you achieve that glowy look  !

ps: were did you get the idea for that thing…

ps2: it’s not a Boring GI Render?!!! :Z

Yes i like it. Some parts are tricky a bit (for example where arms holding rotors touch the hemispheres by the hull), but after that it’s really nice.

glow can be done with plugin in sequencer…
but I’m more wondering about the lighting on this thing… you said GI, but do you mean fake GI, as in halfsphere-thing?

it’s very very, VERY nice!

Very nice

Cool, really thechnic modeling, realle awesome. But how did you that blur, post prosessing?, or new function I didn’t discover in blender 2.28?, I think a blur thingy should be cool when integrated in blender. Or focal blur? :o

looks great andy!

bored? yes, you have seemed very bored lately…nerves are they called I guess :stuck_out_tongue:  ??

this post seemed be after the radiosity blender binary you got from me, is it with this binary or just plain so called “faked gi” solution  ?

hey, why not some texturing, get to work!! :x I want to see some more of your boredom ;)!!

Nice render @ndy. I thought you didn’t like that GI look though?

I agree about some textures. WOuld make it look better.

BgDM

hey everyone. thanks for the replies.
after such a long time you should know that i never use external renderers [oh well, hardly use…]
the only PP in this image is some color adjustment in corel later on, i guess that’s what added the extra glow to it. and yes, the zblur plugie was used.
finally, about that thing: i dunno what it is… slapped it together in one hour…

edit: no waay! i’m NOT going to texture or bother with this crap again!
i used a [heavily subdivided] GI sphere for that, no radiosity. the new radio tool is still a bit tricky and you get many “interesting” results with it :stuck_out_tongue:
so i didnt use that.

thanks again :Z
.andy

what does GI stand for? :-?

Global Illumination. You can achieve it with a lot of spotlights or radiosity.

You would normally make an Icosphere with dupliverted spotlights, but the new radiosity in blender (will probably come in 2.29) might offer an easier solution.

Wow, I am going to have to try this. Nice work

@ndy first of all: I didn’t saw anything boring that you posedt in great while (if ever). second ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :o :o :o :o :o this is awsome!!! can you make a painted virsion? how did you rendered that? great lighting!!! great modeling great anything!!!

Ack, yet another great render from @ndy

:o hmm this was just an ico sphere at a high sudivision dupla spots?! cool… I’m going to make some more tests with this idea in mind…

what were the properties of the parent spot, could you post a screen and what subdivision you had that ico on?.. thanks :Z

Oh, I get it; this is a reverse psycology thing boring==great
Anyhow, how much time you spend each day in Blender?

PS: I’d like to see some of your art at 3dtotal…

Cativo your at 3dtotal? cool, who are you ( same name? ) I used to hang there all the time, I might start posting more there sometime :-? …
