I’ve always wanted to explore the dark settings in the souls series, but never managed to catch the exact feeling as in the game. This is a twist of how the actual Yhrom looks in the game series, with a more human look of course. It was really fun doing this piece, exploring things such as working with characters in a scene, which i never usualy do!
Everybody is probably not familiar with the game, but still!
I did a 1920x1080 render, which took about 7 hours with all different passes. (Never been working with so many layers before…) But i realised the background might have been to big for the character so i did a resize in photoshop, but did most of my post processing in blender compositor!
This image left me speechless this is truly a masterpiece great work. how about adding lens flare to the red eye and may i ask how were you able to make the body decay ?
That could actually work, i’d like to keep the piece to its original effects compared to what the game has though. But it doesnt sound like a bad idea, might go into photoshop and see the effects it has to the picture
It’s a group node with a mix of a few textures, diffuse and glossy shaders. The most noticable one is of course the glowing parts of the skin, which is a musgrave texture with emission and a colorramp on it! Not too fancy i’d say, but it does its job!
Definitly. I’m working on a wireframe render atm, should take so long.
Its all pretty detailed. The stones were made with photogeometry, the ground is displaced with a few textures and the fire of course made with the simulator!
Here is the wireframe render… Pretty messy considering i usually like clean wires, but this was a tough one with cloth and photogeometry mesh. But you get the overall concept
