I guess my post up there is a bit tiny and unseen.
But, yes, it was a perfect game. Only if I could find all the clips I’ve made…

lol, i totally saw that post, clicked the link and then was like “OMG I totally forgot about this game!!!” and i was so excited I just downloaded a bunch of crap, fiddled with it, then posted without even thinking of your post
Someone really ought to make a sequel or something. “The Movies” was a total waste of money. Making movies with it is about as easy as trying to eat soup with a fork, and the way the default stuff was set up was just awful.
actually, i loved cars, and drawing them, and had dreamed of designing one in 3d. ironically, i still haven’t designed one XD
I know… there’s just something about it. And it’s way better than all their other games.
And just out of curiosity what was the first one you played?
I’m not that old, only 15. The first game I played was Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64. That is one of the best games out there. I played Bugdom on the first computer I got (an old Imac) that came with Bugdom preinstalled.
Have you ever seen those cut scenes for Final Fantasy 10 and up? Good GOD, they’re fantastic!!
It’s because of FF that I love 3D today. If I could, I would work with square-enix or something like that
I really loved that game back then
I still have it somewhere amongst the hundreds of old N64 games next to the unplugged N64 itself. If I can, I’ll dig it up and play it again
Tomb Raider, all of them. PC and now Xbox. Especially swimming, but hey, just breathing/heaving was cool/hot. Ambiance was the Sphinx for me.
Counter-strike was my first time hearing 3D ,while i played 3D games before but never thought it would be 3D objects in flat screen
My 3D inspiration came when I played Crash Bandicoot 2, for the first time. Though I only started doing 3D during the SoF2 era.
Not sure, I’ve originally wanted to go into 2d animation, but half-life rocked my world when I was a kid^^ But only last year Ive realized I want to be in animation, dunno yet if I’ll go into 3d-animation. A bug’s life was super cute as well:)
For me it was old computer games. Need for speed: high stakes road challenge(play this - then you’ll realise why I think the new Need for Speed games are just hyped graphics and crappy gameplay) and lots of other old games. I played these when I was around 10 (now 15) and they inspired me basically because I used to love the game and at the time I thought the graphics was truly amazing.
Star Wars, probably (it had a short 3d anim of death star, which was repeated over and over). I also remember being excited over magazine articles about Tron (still remember it was done on a computer called “Cray XMP”), but I don’t remember if I actually saw it in the theater or not (not quite as exciting as Star Wars at that age, probably fell asleep halfway).
I’ve seen all the pixar movies, grew up with toy story. I’ve always been an artist but never though about 3-d until recently. I think it was Advent Children that got me thinking 'Hey, this could be fun. I kinda want to make 3-d movies". BUt I didn’t try and pursue anything, just sorta let it fade…Now, some of you my have seen a short film on youtube called after you by Christopher Cordingley. Well, I play a game called Go, and several other people who play Go in my city meet up once a week to play. OUr Go club is run by a man named Robert Cordingley, father of Christopher Cordingley. Anyway, he was telling us about his son who works in 3d movies and showed me the short film. After that totally inspireing movie, I started surfing the net, looking for 3d programs, and found Blender. Yeah, long story, but at least it had a happy ending.
They have come a long way since their older games. Just look at VII (or 7 for those of you that dont know what that means :p). When it first came out me and my siblings thought the graphics were awesome. But compared to now they are horrible.
I’ve always wanted to try making my own video game, which is why ive wanted to get into 3d.
Stunt Cat Racer sounds like it would be an awesome game. Run around the livingroom, leaping from the couch to the recliner and then climbing some drapes, followed by cleaning and napping mini-games.
The best part, tho, is the replay editor.
Can’t believe I forgot to mention Metal Gear Solid. Was just watching some of my favorite cutscenes on youtube. Those inspire me but I am no where near competent to do anything like that.
I consider mine totally absurd. Two of my friends held a meeting of our club in which they showed off there work on 3D max studio and google sketch up. I was totally bambozled by there work (i gathered later that it took them about 3 hours for each modle ).Now i am the FOSS advocate of my group. We were chatting after there presentation and they said can you FOSS tools produce such effects. And i in a fit of i dont know what said yes. They challenged me that in the next meeting i show them. I came home scrambled through my archive of old CD and found a copy of blends win version on one of ubuntu 7.04 cds (the shipit ones that is). But i wanted total FOSS that was Linux+Gimp+blender. I am still working for my presentation. Have got some good things done to show them. And i have an added advantage they had take courses for these and i did it all by my self so i can easily say can your propirotry do this???
