Ok this thread hasnt been deleted or locked yet so i think its ok to post fangames here. Ive been working with blender abit longer then a year now. The same day i found this program i started this fan game (it looked alot diffrent then) but after a half year i realised i cant do it all by myself. I found a video of a zelda game made in blender that had very nice animations… I contacted the guy(wagner) and he was willing to share them with me. He is now my main animator and is animating the new link model. after i posted the game on zelda fan game central were i met Moffett1990 he is making the story(he already has alot done) and also draws the model designs…
Cool. It would be good to see someone get a decent Zelda remake done with the BGE, theres been a few started around the place over the years.
One quote from the other thread which I agree with:
On a side note I recommend picking a style and staying with it.
Your Ocarina of Time model rips don’t look good with high resolution level meshes.
Id suggest making your own Link model, just ripping one from the original game and hitting subdivide doest quite cut it, since you cant say its your own work, and extra polys doesnt make the model any better, in some cases it comes out a lot worse. If you took the time to model Link again (using the original as a reference would be perfectly fine) then you could come up with a very nice game model. Then just use the armature you already have for it, so you dont have to remake that or redo your animations.
That way you can say its yours, no one will go on about copyright to you and in the end it will be a better model anyway and you can make your own style for the rest of the game to follow.
I like the way your making the jars crumple though, and the bombs are cool, the explosions have some real force to them, and when they blow up all the jars it looks really awesome. I could imagine that in a village scene with all the debris bouncing around.
We have a different modle for link did you see the new video?
or check out the actual topic on zfgc…
heres the zfgc topic in the first link below then under that will be our video
with our edited link modle :
Ah well thats much better! The new model looks good, and so do the other character models.
And generally fan games are ok to post here on BA, there was some issues regarding fan games a year or 2 ago, but its since been resolved. Games with ripped models or textures from commercial games will probubly get a thread locked however, but that shouldnt be a problem for you guys now that you have replaced the link model.
We have done some more modles I will post a picture of the toad below, we are waiting on the animator to do the animations so we can make the demo…we are looking for some help , we need a modeler (maps, dungeons, characters, props) we could also use some help in programming things like the Ai and stuff like tht so if anyone is interested leave a post or pm either myself or a.k
Well I can’t say much more about the plot of the story to explain it but the triforce will still be called the triforce lol the demo will be out soon we got some animations back from the animator Lastnight XD
Thanks, the demo will be released shortly! We are just trying to work out a few bugs and decide on a couple things before we release it . So be on the look out it should be popping up soon …
ok before we release a demo i`m going to put the player file here so you can test it out. if there are any bugs please tell us so i can fix them… sorry only glsl for now
Ok here is a screenshot of a map I’m helping to create for this game. It’s a really nice game you should download and have a look. Note this map is heavy work in progress, it hasn’t even got normal maps yet.
I recommend not pulling to full black, especially in a Zelda game (which tend to be rather cartoony). Basically, give pretty much everything an emit of at least .2, if not more, and it’ll be a lot more pleasing to look at.
