I want to animate a springy zingy whippy elastic band between two objects. I would appreciate any suggestions re subjects I might look into to accomplish this.

Not that I necessarily know the answer but would this elastic band be wrapped around the two objects or would it be a projectile bouncing off the two objects?
The band would be attached between two moving objects, stretching, contracting and bouncing around between them.
I have been googling around re soft body, wonder whether I might be able to do it that way. Still very open to suggestions…
