Zonka! It keeps you up!

With the millions of diffrent energy/diet pills going around I wanted to make my own. This was an idea I had about a year ago. Its a Blue and Red pill that you take and it keeps you up late when your drinking. It works well with beer in other words. I wanted to show the potential Blender could have in those cheesey ads you see on Tv and in the Magazines.

Let me know what you think!

eeeee even i could do that
:x

Personally I give it an A, A for Effort and Idea. Who is professional around here I dont see one(nor do i claim to be) Everything I see on here gets an A from me. I like the fact that people try and use Blender, from a lego block or a pretty flower. Everything and everyone on here gets an A in my book. And when you give bad feedback it hurts Blender community as a whole. People on here look for advice on how to make there work better not to hear that they should give up. So dont rate people on here. who are you to rate anybody. Ive been using blender for over 5 years now before elysiun was even created. I spent lots of late nights chatting with Ton and others about features and bugs. If anybody gets to rate its those people who put their heart and time into blender, not a user like you or me. So think about that the next time you rate someone.
ps. not angry that i got a bad rate, just angry at the fact you rated me at all and all those others.

Yeah, ignore the commenting guy, pretty negative. If he thinks its awful, why doesn’t he give some advice?

Obviously the whole thing is quite simple, but I still like the middle picture a lot, the composure of the scene with the shadow is rather nice. There’s nothing wrong with any of the stuff you made, it just doesn’t look like it took that long, that’s not always a bad thing.

Umm, and how did you create those balls, or whatevers that come out of the pill?
dupliverts?

Keeps you up late when you’re drinking???

I thought that was Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra…wait, I’m off topic here…

But back to the image…I really like the center one, It’s better than the graphics you see on a lot of “commercial” websites.

The top image has a perspective that makes the pill look like its 20 meters across. I think if you decrease the camera lense angle and use DOF (<–is that the right term for ‘focal blur’?) you might get a more realistic ‘close up’ image. But you’re right about the quality of those commercials, some of them could take 20 minutes to make in blender.
Actually i’d like to see what these look like when animated, are you gonna try that out?

I think you need some thickness to the “shell”, seems extremly thin!

I don’t now much about pills but can you break one and get those clean edges without cracks?

Otherwise cool can at last pic!

//styken

Yeah, its a nice consecpt, and I like the last picture most. But try to add some thicknes(hope I spell it correct :-? ) on the pill(second image).

And yes, I believe that those pills work. Look that sign on the bottle(second image) your a :< … LOL

Is this schipped already? I know some persons who already tried everything, maybe this works

  1. Some times Rendering something as fast as you can is a good thing thats why I like blender. Better than making ad graphics in Illustrator/Photoshop. I wish I had time to Play more but work being work I have bills. hehe. I would say tho that Blender is the fastest way to make custom 3d web graphix.

  2. Yeah I thought the pill was a little thin too.

  3. I would like to make it more transparent also

  4. It if was on the market I would be rich! lol

  5. Viagra is for old men not drunks like me or you! hehe

Thanks for the feed back. It is a WORK IN PROGRESS, hope to update soon with some of your ideas THANKS!

i’ve wondered quite a lot about commercials & blender … sometimes I think that even I can make ‘something like that’ when I see a commercial :stuck_out_tongue:

how about adding something like this:

Before ZONKA: :frowning:
After ZONKA: :o

(not with smileys ofcourse … :))

Pavcioo: Dumbest newbie ever.

Maybe we can make some kind of commersial, and if someone wants a bottle, we just send him a copy of blender. He/she will sit behind his/her computer the whole day. Forgot to eat, forgot to sleep. That works too :stuck_out_tongue: , so they put there fat into the blender community. effect -> the blender community grows, and it dont need a diet

Sorry, I think its time to go to bed.

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz…

chill out man, the grade means i dont like the work, but i do know how the beginning in blender is hard. I appriceate (whatever it spells) the effort.
I can give you one advice - the composition is just too simple.
One more advice - if you were just duplicating the spheres, you may want to try the dupli verts option in the particle effect, it will duplicate all the spheres in the area you want them to be. For more specific help see the BLender Manual.
And finally yes - we gotta give positive support, not discourage people from using blender, but yes - we gotta criticise, cos you may think that your work is everything you can afform and that you wont make nothing better. I didnt mean to be bad, just construcive (forgot to post comments).

Its cool man. It is a work in progress, not a final. So it needs work.

Zonak is a project I will probably never finish. It it just an idea I can use to test diffrent ideas. I want to make a magazine ad with it eventually. Then do an animation commercial. (listing the possible side effects of course) I just thought with no feedback it seemed liek you were judging it like i was done with it. So…We all need to keep up the good work and BLENDER WILL NEVER DIE!

If you want to put in a magazine, add some specularity, maybe even raymirror to the “shell” of the pill. if raymirroring would render too long, then just add some refl texture like clouds or something.

I want to add all that cool stuff but im still getting wavey lines on all my renders and saved renders. When I figure it out I will do reflection and other cool stuff to it…

wavy lines?
maybe you got to go to the edit mode, then select all the verts with the A key, then press CTRL+N and click “Recalc normals outside”.

I think it´s cool.
But i´d rather no radio-active shit in my body :stuck_out_tongue:
