Zooming in indefinitely

Hi everyone,

So out of the blue I started to experience this bug where my mouse keeps zooming in by itself indefinitely. I I right click on anything then it scrolls up and down continuously in the menu.

I don’t know what to do. I uninstalled Blender and reinstalled it but it’s still doing it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Thank you for your time,

Thibault

This is just a whim but it may be related to the emulate 3 button mouse setting and windows sticky keys. Maybe try to turn them off.

If not reinstall try to reinstall your mouse drivers

I have had this problem with complicated scenes (loads of geometry). I do not use the mouse wheel I use the + and – keys, so I do not think it is your mouse, I can confirm that it does sometimes happen. I have to be careful to press the + and - keys quickly (not keep pressed) when I have a lot of geometry.

Thank you for your answer! It keeps happening even when I start a new scene though

Thanks Jamell! I have a cheap mouse so there was no driver with it. But I found that when I unplug it the problem stops. I’m a huge noob so where would I find the settings you’re talking about? Do you think it would stop if I just buy a new mouse?

Read these, they should put you in the right direction (unfortunately I’m busy until this evening so won’t be able to respond any further until then):

If that doesn’t resolve this issue it is likely that you have a faulty mouse or maybe there is dust stuck between the scroll wheel and the right button.
