Project Cassandra - Character Setup Video

Cassandra is a 3rd person action adventure game. In the first demo, you can play and fight in a mini lava battle. You choose your character, and the battle begins. When you die, you go back to character selection, and keep on going. No starting over! If you get enough points, you can unlock special players, such as the main character, Cassandra. There are three ways t win - Capture the Flag, Capture Bases, or Kill All Enemies. You get as many lives as you need, but if you die, the enemy gets one step closer to winning.

Multiplayer arena is also coming soon. As soon as I can get a server up, and tweak our networking scripts, it will be ready.

We are now using GLSL Shading, aiming for artistic photorealism.

  • ProgrammingCharacter programming is underway. We are working to provide the most immersive gameplay experience possible including multiple dimensions of player movement. The player will be able to run, walk stealthily, sprint, jump, climb, and swim throughout our world, not to mention performing special weapon-linked attacks.
  • Concept ArtVery little is done in the matter of official concept art. We are currently seeking talent in this department. The sooner we can fill the position, the sooner we can show work on it.
  • Character DesignWe are looking for experienced character artists to join our team.
  • AnimationAnimation is underway!
  • StoryA story has been written but is being tweaked to accommodate linear progression along with a sense of adventure. Adding dynamic twists and turns have proven a difficult task, but we believe this will create a unique experience when done!
  • Environment ArtWe have one of the best game environment artists that I have seen working with us in these games. You can expect breathtaking scenery (well, as much as the BGE allows) to coincide with the enjoyable gameplay and suspenseful story.

We now have ladder climb, a nice test level, enemy swordsmen, enemy bowmen, ladder climbing, health bars, notifications, snipe mode, character select, intro animation, and more.

How aobut moving it over to GLSL, would look nice with some shading and shadows!

we had GLSL originally, but decided to switch to multitexture to keep the framerate up and also so that people with no GLSL capabilities can play. The graphics should be just as good as GLSL anyways. Please note again that we are just starting on graphics and all of the above was just quick made graphics to test the programming. Some graphics will come soon.

Linkxgl: I am having just a simple lava level arena. It will have bowmen, swordsmen, AI, lava, etc etc. You win by either capturing the bases or killing 70 enemies

Looks really good. If you are using multi texture graphics you can set the faces to react to lights in the object editing tab.
That way you don’t have to use flat shading.

Prototype demo released. This is just a gameplay prototype, so the graphics, because the focus is on gameplay for prototypes. Graphics will be added later.

This is tested on 2.55/2.54 on Windows 7. The graphics are also on multitexture so people without GLSL support can also play!
