Classic Books thread

Here is a selection of works that i completed over the period of about 9 months (on and off) I started using Blender because i had the idea of this series but did not know how to create the images in my head. Blender proved to be the perfect tool.

To Kill a Mockingbird
War of the Worlds
Gulliver’s travels
Schindler’s Ark
Jekyll and Hyde
Romeo and Juliet

The picture of Dorian Gray:

To Kill a Mockingbird:

War of the Worlds:

Gulliver’s Travels:

Gulliver’s best).

Really liked The War of the Worlds one! Good job.

reminds me of The Page Master(a kids book :stuck_out_tongue: )

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I wasn’t sure if anyone else would find these funny. It is very refreshing doing humorous pictures that tell a story rather than ‘straight’ art. I suggest everyone does a less serious piece of work now and then, you can really have fun with Blender and test things out that you wouldn’t usually do.

I’m kind of hooked on doing these now: Jekyll and Hyde is coming next…

Haha really funny and well done, especially Gulliver’s Travels.

The book that inspired the film.

Schindler’s Ark:

Haha. The War of the Worlds one is pretty funny :D.

New one done. Progress a lot slower now i’m back at work. :frowning:

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

I think what comes out most in your images is that you had fun with them, and that makes them enjoyable to look at. Thanks.

I think you should keep going with this theme. Its the kind of thing you could start something like a weekly webcomic and attract a good following for. Good idea.

Looks freaking awesome! Eyeballs are a little disturbing… But very awesome!

Ha ha! Beautiful!

Another one done! A simple scene, but I learnt about depth of field in this one (although, admittedly the main reason for the DOF is because I couldn’t get realistic flames…)

Romeo and Juliet (the good part at the end):

Found this great series again. I hope you have time to continue the series someday. Some other classics that might make good scenes:

Alice in Wonderland
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Treasure Island
Sherlock Holmes

I would love to see a Moby Dick. Good job!

Thanks guys. So busy at work at the moment but I will do more… One day.

Maybe moby dick.
I would love to do a Holmes one too.

watch this space.
