female Elissa (nudity)

I think it is coming along nicely, add some hair and I’d hit that, my only comment is ADD HAIR! BALD CHICKS MAKE XAKH GO EW!

The makehuman script your talking about, is it the Superfical one, or the other one?

@henrymop:

Well, I just went to the site http://www.dedalo-3d.com/ and on your left you will see the Makehuman SSS section. There’s a brief explanation, some examples and the script for download.
Only thing is with this script… If I turn on AO and have too heavy lights in the environment, the lowest “power” value and lowest “scattering” value are still too high. So, when trying the script, also pay attention to the lights you put in your environment.

@Xakh:

I know the hair is still missing, but I’m still concentrating on the modelling of her body. The current hair-system with particles in blender is there I know, but it is not yet very suitable for long hair. If you go back a few posts of me in this thread, then you’ll see I’ve struggled with making good hair. (page 1 somewhere at the bottom.) … I’ve done the hair tutorial you can find around, but the system is still lacking a natural workflow… collission between hairs, etc.
So, if anyone does know a good technique for using the hair-system in an easier way, then please let me know.

Just reviewing the head / face… Haven’t had much time lately, but here’s an update (in progress). If you look close you notice the difference.

I see a few minor changes between her eyes. The old mesh flow looks cleaner to me, but I may well be missing something. Was there more than that? And will the pole between her cheek and her jawline get you into trouble when you go to do RVKs?

I’ve worked some more on the face. Here’s a new render and this time I added some hair in photoshop. Also done in photoshot are the color of the lips/nipples. I wanted to see the effect of Elissa with hair. I could also have applied some make-up, but didn’t in the end…

Does it look a bit ok?

This is starting to look really good.

The eyebrows look a bit shaggy.

I reckon that you’ve got a few too many edge loops in the center of the forehead.

I see that you’ve slightly modified the topology of the neck.

Aligorith

That head is WAY too big, but other than that (and a few bad poles in the stomach region (i can spot them now, after the ear topology thread  )), it’s really good.

Wow, too many brackets.

Naive Amoeba, the head too big? Mmm it shouldn’t be too big, it is aligned to the references and follows the anatomy rules.

The heads fine.

I dunno, I just feel that the head seems too big for either the width of her shoulders or her waist. Maybe not “way” too big, have you made it smaller than the first page of this thread? Because I commented on the first render you did. It seems smaller in the later ones, but I think it still looks a bit like her head wouldn’t be able to hold itself up. Maybe her neck’s too thin?

Hm, I think it’s a great model (the face and collarbone area is brilliant), and I feel it’s only a minor issue I have with it.

On second thought, maybe her neck’s too long, and that makes her head look bigger…?

Ah well.

Matt

In average, you could put another head underneath the chin before it’d touch the nipples. I personally think it’s the neck which is doing it. Or the eyes, which looks obscenely huge to me.

Come darkness, I’ll see her again.

I agree the head seems a bit too large for her shoulder width.
or maybe its just the angle of the picture. But it’s still looking great nice modeling.

I personally think it’s the neck which is doing it.

Yeah, the neck does look kinda abnormal. The eyes are big.

mmm, the neck too thin and eyes too big…
Well, here are some more views from the 3d viewport… maybe they will help you decide better if that is it. As you can see for the general proportions it follows the reference nicely. I’ll try to adjust soime things and see what the results are.

Thanks for the comments btw.

Yep, I’m more than sure it’s the neck. I don’t think anyone’s neck shrinks that much from the head, just a little. If even that. As for the eyes, it’s hard to say really, given how the eyelids are so high.

Speaking of other things, I think the jaw could be a little more well defined, since now it seems like there is now jawbone at all.

Yeah, the neck’s a bit on the long side.

Aligorith

I’ve changed some things like:

  • redone the topology of the neck a bit, better muscle flow (looked at an anatomy book as a reference)
  • gave the neck a little more width and made it less high
  • made the face a little smaller
  • made the eyes a little smaller together with the face and also the eyelids are a little more down
  • added hair with photoshop, eye makeup, color of lips and nipples also done with photoshop.

I think it is looking a lot better now:-) (it is a little bit more from the sideview)

There’s this odd blip in the middle of her chest.

Aligorith

The armpit is not really defined and there’s some kind of blip on her neck as well. Those neck muscles seem a bit sharp as well.
