this addon is avilible on https://sellfy.com/p/XFbE
THX! It is very useful!
OUTSTANDING WORK. I am going to save my pennies to get this. This is a must have addon for me.
Hi there,
Iâm using a realtime shader that moves vertices based on their vertex color.
I was wondering if you have any plans to add vertex color support for this.
Also any possibility of this add-on to be available in Cg Cookie Markets?
I can buy it through âsellfyâ right now but If you plans for cgc markets I would prefer that.
Thanks
Hi gurayg
Itâs a good idear of adding vertex color to the hair strip.
Itâs very handy to release a produt on sellty, thouth Itâs not as popular as Cookie Markets.but I may try that next time.
thanks
Thanks for your reply imdjs,
I guess you can release on both sites. The good thing about Cg Cookie Markets is getting updates, finding the docs and having a dedicated forum for the asset.
But if you will not be releasing on Cg Cookie at all please let me know.
this is the usage example of HairMesher in my recent project,in realtime glsl. the whole hair mesh face count is about 2k.
Great!
@imdjs amazing results in your last picture! I love it.
Thanks for your sharingâŚCongrats sincerely.
Ok I am finally going to order this. $10 USD seems a very small price to pay for an addon that I have been wishing for for years. This will make my work with makehuman meshes much easier. I just hope it comes with some type or READABLE ENGLISH documentation. So many addons that I have seen over the last 14 years come with little or none at all. Itâs like the author thinks that since he/she can use it that everyone will be able to use his addon
Ok I just brought it. No documentation whatsoever. Well I might write a pdf file myself if I can figure it out and find the time.
I am so sorry for that, beacuse I though the GIFs above my thread have shown how to use it ,and this addon is very easy to use .just select the host of hair and generate the mesh.
imdjs. Do not take it as though I am complaining. The gifs that you show are very instructive. But it is always good to have written documentation for a person to refer to. As I said I might do it myself if i can find the time and upload it to my cloud space in .doc and pdf format.
Feature request: convert children particles to meshes (easier to style hair). Convert particlesystem (in modifiers) can create edges, donât know if thatâs how youâre doing it though.
Anyway, nice addon.
I see. Thatâs too bad. I looked through the source code and saw that you can get the child particle location there so it should be possible to expose this information to python (maybe ask some nice dev?)
https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender.git/blob/HEAD:/source/blender/editors/object/object_modifier.c (search for convert)
Maybe itâs easier to just fake children, you could create extra patches around the original hairs. Maybe thatâs a lot of work though. (plus wonât work with hair settings unless you implement everything)
Some other code that may be interesting:
https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender.git/blob/HEAD:/source/blender/blenkernel/intern/particle.c
https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender.git/blob/HEAD:/source/blender/blenkernel/intern/particle_child.c
https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender.git/blob/HEAD:/source/blender/blenkernel/intern/particle_distribute.c
https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender.git/blob/HEAD:/source/blender/blenkernel/intern/particle_system.c
thanks for the information you offer , I will look through into It.
This is really cool, thanks for this. Iâll be sure to put it to use once I start making game meshes.
Hi,this is really interesting,so I have bought it today.
I have some feature suggestions, maybe not aligned with what you are planning, but in my opinion really useful,so please take into consideration for future development.
First of all, your generated hair mesh should(or could be, as an user option) linked permanently to the hair system,so,as you give an armature to the original mesh that generate the hair, the particle hair follow, and your hair mesh also follows with them, avoiding odd twist rotations(I tried regenerating the hair mesh from a cylinder with an armature and after rotating a bone your hair mesh itâs not aligned correctly anymore).
Secondly,it could be really cool if you could generate 2 uvset, one like you have allready done, and another one derived from the parent mesh(maybe as an user option).
The reason Iâm doing these requests is for modelling and rendering bird feathers,a thing correctly really difficult to do in blender(currently you have instances that are rigid object or the particle instance modifier which simply is useless).
I hope you could develop this so much up to a point to create a blender equivalent of the 3dsmax plugin ornatrix.
Bye
This looks like an amazing addon and exactly what I am looking for! However, there is basically no info besides this thread.
Could any of you guys who bought it upload a video on youtube demonstrating all its functionalities?
Seriously considering buying this!
