ColorCube now on GamersGate!

UPDATE: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=194592

Here is the final version of ColorCube, one of the games of the last year competition.
As it was much appreciated, I decided to improve it and make it commercial.
There’s now 42 levels, and a level editor to make and share your own levels.

The game is available here: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-CCUBE/colorcube

Here’s the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lerdl-Dp8c

You can download the free demo.
Hope you will like it.

Oh wow, that’s Blender? Looks awesome dude!

Why not submit it to Blender-games.com?

Thanks a lot!
It’s a good idea, I’ll probably send the demo to Blender-games.com .

Sweet!
I love this game.

The game looks nice, congradulations on completing it.

How exactly did you get around the GPL license (GameKit, C106 Delta’s BPPLayer ect…)?

I’ve made a launcher program that unlocks the game file. It has nothing to do with the GPL license.

Mind sharing the program and telling us how it works? There are many here who would love to make a commercial pay-for game using the BGE and this could be exactly what they need.

Not forcing you to do anything, but with plans by many to sell their BGE games commercially this may be what they need (Haidme comes to mind)

He could sell his program haha… joke :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t really do that… Simply for the security of my own game.
You know, I tried C106 Delta’s BPPLayer and it worked perfectly.
But it doesn’t support command line options (for the fullscreen/windowed switching), so I couldn’t use it for my game.
But I think people can use it if they don’t need command line.

Dude, fully awesome game. I be keepin’ mai eye on you.

I strongly suggest you to find more reliable way to protect your content. It took me about 2 min to cracked it.

I will not share or give away your protection system to no one.So no worries.

P.S.
Fun game! With great replayable value.
Good luck with it!

Excellent demo. It looks very profession and the gameplay is very entertaining.

Version 1.03 of the BPPlayer supports command lines (including full-screen / window switching). However, v1.03 still beta… so you might have to wait a bit for the official v1.03 release.

Could you release a mac version of the demo or the demo blend? It looks awesome

looks great! How did you do the stars effect in the background?

It’s just a skymap texture.

congrats for the commercial version!
I work on 3 games with commercial target (with BGE of course
I think you must make a mac version, maybe you will sell more…

I have a small project of BGE config with… BGE, check it:

and: I think you can send this to blender.org as new, I am sure they will publish and you have more sells

Incredible i would buy it but i dont have enough money. Maybe another time.

Wow, when I first saw this after the contest I thought it was the only BGE game so far that Ive seen which had the potential to go commercial.

Great job, lets hope this is the first of many.
Now where are all those people who said the BGE would never produce a commercial game!?

some ideas:
-make a short (30-40 seconds) trailer and upload to popular game sites for example gametrailers.com (its free to upload I think)
-dont write “needs glsl” because most of the users dont know what is glsl. maybe write something like “try demo before buy game”
-send emails to various game sites
-after some time period publish a new demo with new levels
-try to find other publishing sites
-make more youtube gameplay videos and upload trailer too
