1:1 4K Resolution

Hello,

What would be the resolution of a 1:1 aspect ratio for a 4K video?

I would like to render my 10-second (240 frames) animation in 4K. Would you go for 2160x2160 or 3840x3840? Sample number is 128. I compared it with 1000 samples and the difference is not much even if you look closely. Denoising enabled of course. One frame takes about 5 minutes to render with 1000 samples at 3840x3840. I absolutely do not want to go any higher than that although below 4 minutes per frame at 3840x3840 is preferable. Still, with these times per frame, I’m alright. However, would these low sample numbers be still worth rendering at 2160x2160 or 3840x3840? Or would you need to use at least 10K, or 100K samples for 4K renders to show their full clearness?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks very much in advance

What is the application? if you want to view it on a 4k display, then 2160 is max height anyway, so matching the width is just wasting pixels

Thank you very much for your reply.

It’s in Blender. It’s for a nft collection.

Good luck.
