Actually for performance reasons you should not use textures bigger than
1024x1024 pixels in size. And yes .jpg images are the best to keep the kbs low. Always try to keep the scaling of your images in a uniform, or locked size, eg.(64x64, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024), or for non square images. Use (64x512, 128x256, 512x1024, and so on. Anything else the BGE has to recalculate during the rendering.

we’re starting to put detail where the houses will not be taken over the ground with a cube texture
All homes MT will be unique thus no (shift + d) will work harder but the result will be better and it is important to us

below some homes still without texture
“Textures are in creation”

so they created the game’s performance will be great, since the average resolution is 200x200 with a size of 12kb, and still with optimal clarity

After a short downtime due to other projects that you can check http://www.youtube.com/eliteblender

You must remember this house, where he was posted to 1

Of course after a reduction of unnecessary polygons begin to texture editing, where our goal is to achieve the best graphics, where we saw some tests that only depends on us’cause depending on how you setup the frames to fall down, and even with only a very only texture

see this picture
http://dc309.4shared.com/img/g-YL9lo3/s7/edit.PNG

It’s the same house where only issue was raised only six different textures, textures with no more

the scene has a spot lamp and shade effects real

the normal map of each scene was added. png extra when editing normal map giving an even better creating the normal map and thus giving better effect

approximate the image you may notice that this brick with a good quality but used a different method
believe the texture of the brick has the dimension of 200x169 and a size of 11.5 kb in. jpeg

Just to clarify the texture of this dark yet still be at issue where it will change until the late edition

Of course everything is still up edition, we decided to show that post and come back soon updates

Comment!

know importance of graphics and so we’re adjusting to a universal graph that is uniform on any object in the game

here a little update

Is there any particular reason you are using a texture size of 200x169? Real time textures should be in powers of 2, as was explained.

give me some results is all i can say =/ see if you can actually get this to work.

You must be joking…

Hi, take a look at this blend for an idea about how to use Levels of Detail.

When the robots are near, they are 1000 polys. When far away they are swapped for models which are 500 polys.
The trees are physical models when close, but change to a single billboard when far away. I will use the same process for buildings and other objects. The game runs quite fast, despite complex python code and logic bricks.

All objects become invisible when very far away.
Example game

And yes, I suggest using a texture size 256 x256 or 512 x512.
If you want really fast textures use .dds files, with DXT1 compression.
much faster than JPGs.

The reason is simple, in a near future we will give the option of graphic settings, where the highest setting will work with fantastic graphics

but now with this resolution is already appearing to be more close to reality, even with a minimum resolution

Kidding us?
we are, but not about the graphics

What can you expect from us

1st sound
2 graphics

so you can wait that’s for sure, we are not only young dreamers with a game

already shown that wine to be

this is actually a simple LOD system, helps in tenths of a framerate

We have in mind a similar system to the vertex where the lod Will be many, and of course without dropping frames too

You sure don’t lack in confidence! I wish you luck!
The other thing I believe you lack is humility! When you say ‘photorealism’ in a ‘game developers’ forum we expect Crytek level graphics at least. Which besides being able to render millions of polygons can render plenty of effects simultaneously (water shading and displacement, DOF, volumetric lighting hi rez shadows, bloom, light scattering, volumetric clouds, etc).
If you believe that using a picture as texture will make you game more realistic, well, you still need to learn the basics of game making.
With a lot of work, planning and dedication, you could do half the things I mentioned and fake 2/6 of the others I didn’t. With the models you present, you are very far from that.
So measure your words carefully, and check your posts for mistakes (use a spell checker), for I have some difficulties understanding. If possible, have a Portuguese translation on the bottom.
And there are no big secrets in an open source community, most of things have been though and tried out. We all think based on what we see, and we all see basically the same things…

Very well said my friend.

On blender its kind of hard to make something very realistic, the shadow system on blender still suck, so still better to bake the lights. Well, about the english spell, I speak portuguese, and if a guy that speaks english cant understand while I can, this guy is having some kind of problem reading, sorry torakunsama, I agree with everything that you said, but I have problems with english aswell, and as we need to speak in english on the forum this isnt is something that really make that difference, as I said, I can read why cant you?

Here are some pictures about what I had achieved with blender so far, its better than the avarege graphics that I saw so far.

it is not and never has been a lack of humility, but ambition on our part

we are not dreaming, we know what we’re doing, and that we do tests followed by more testing

if you join us from the beginning you will see that

Blender really is not compared to Crytek, but this engine is just for those planning something big, the blender is a wonderful tool to look at a higher engine is to be highly unprofessional of you, Blender is great if you do not find useful in game engine you that is not capable of it

you may even find that it can not be realistic, but we will do everything possible to get close

everything depends on the ability of each, if you do not believe in your ability to do something like I hope you think of another way

you a stipulated date, kkkkk
we do not expect to know so we can take 10 years this is not the case here, no date posted

and as to the spelling checker, I suggest that you should use one also because of the language to translate your error here too

not the reasons you get angry with our work, just as you said is his lack of humility

turbomonkey

he said well because you are more than one does not believe in their abilities with the program that you spend half the day

I suggest watching more tutorials

actually the graphics are great, as I always say each job depends on each one, those who say they can not do it because he lives in the era of the cubes and still play snes on pc yet

Blender sucks really much in the shadow but if gran turismo uses serrated shadow and shadow effects in different layers because we can not use too?

shadow estremamentes detailed weigh even from a cube, knowing use everything comes out perfect

thank you and hug

what gran turismo have to do with all this?
