The moment the hammer hits a finger instead of the nail is so painful, been there, done it and it hurt like hell.

The worst part is when you hurt your thumb in the middle of a project and you just have to keep working, extra careful of not hurting that thumb again. Oof. Definitely been there. If you thought it hurt the first time, you should really try hitting it a couple more times…

Done that far too often, started to see the attraction of screws. 
That’s why I only hold the nail for those first couple of light taps. Once it’s secure enough, I’ll freehand it for the heavier swings.
