I’ve been considering making something decent with GreyOxides shipyard models from BlendSwap for awhile, they’re quite useful, so when a contest came up where I was allowed to use creative commons models in the entry I used that chance to make this:
Using the parts from the collection I was able to create the entire scene quite rapidly, about a few hours, with some extra Gimp editing to put the background in and such.
The background is a Public Domain image, so, unfortunately, there’s not much in the scene that is really 100% mine, it’s more of a composite of Public Domain works I guess, however I do believe I can claim credit for the docking hoses drifting away and the engine flares.
