Update. Still a long way to go.

Your reflective shaders, give a good indication that generally this object’s class A surfacing remains thus far, consistently artifact free without seeing any wireframe shots.

Almost finished with the outside. Then I have to start the inside! Very challenging for a relative newbie like me.

Almost done with the modeling. Just have to make the seats.

Inspiring! I have a die cast 1969 Ford Capri (Red) setting on my desk that is calling to me.

FInished with the modeling of the car! It only took me a month to do! I am admittedly not the fastest at 3D modeling. Now to create a scene with the car as the centerpiece.

Almost done. Here is the car in the museum setting with temporary props and lighting. Still working on tweaking those. The idea here is that this is a museum in the year 2251, 300 years since the manufacture of the car. The exhibit is showing objects from that era - a typewriter, a telephone, and a b&w tv. The windows of the museum look out onto a futuristic city to set a contrast to the 300 year old artifacts. The figure next to the car is an old-fashioned department store manakin dressed in the garb I associate with the car - tacky Hawaiian shirt, short pants pulled up to his navel, argyle knee socks and loafers, and a drivers cap. The display sign is a hologram and the glass domes covering each item are also display nodes containing illuimated text about the object within. Please let me know what you think.

looking nice

i’m doing a Ford model T circa 1920
and the wings on the side look almost identical LOL

keep up the good work
are you also doing some nature scene with the car ?

happy bl

Thank you! I am excited to see your Model T! No nature scene, at least not for this project. I will be interested to know how you model the wings. They gave me fits.

for the front wings i use a nurbs surface to shape it and have smooth rounded faces in 3D

easier that way to control and shape it

i will try to open a new thread on WIP forum today for the Ford Model T
but won’t be completed for another week i guess

happy bl

At last! The final result. After a bit of tweaking I am happy with this. I have submitted it to the car render challenge. There are still a few weeks left until the deadline so if you have any suggestions for making the image better please feel free to reply. I am going to post some images of the car from other viewpoints to show the detail.
