1970s inspired glassware

This started life by messing around and trying to better understand some of the built in noise textures.

The basic pattern is achieved by nesting 2 voronoi textures; adjusting the scale changes the density of the circle pattern. I then used the alpha channel to so that only part of the pattern remained visible, as it would if printed to the glass.

Once I had the pattern I wondered how it could be used and thought of some retro drinking glasses. All in a very quick project; I’m trying to do more of these as exercises after getting lost (and somewhat frustrated) in some much bigger pieces.

Somehow very nostalgic to me, the colors do pop.
Enjoyed all your other pieces, nice work!

Hi everyone,

Here is the “Behind the Scenes” article for this brilliant artwork!

Do check out this article, written by the artist himself. It describes the step-by-step process of creating the artwork and provides insight into prop-modelling in Blender.
