2.46rc1 - Transform Snap

Hi,

does anyone know how to use the new Transform Snap tools in 2.46rc1? I am most interested in the rotation/scale snapping capabilities. I have read here some info: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Release_Notes/Notes246/Transform_Tools, however, it does not seem to work (“Active” snapping does not snap to the selected edges/vertices).

Thanks for your help,

Tibor

Thank you very much robbur.

Anyone following this thread: the “Custome Space” tool seen in the referenced video is part of the patch: http://blenderartists.org/~theeth/bf/transformspace.patch

In 2.46rc1, it is called “Custom Orientation”, and can be invoked with “Ctrl-Shift-C”. If 2 vertices or an edge is selected, it displays “Add and Use Edge”, if 2 edges or 3 vertices or a face is selected, it displays “Add and Use Face”, and allows you to create a named custom orientation.

Hello,
Where is the version 2.46rc1 to be found?

Please.

Announcement of http://www.blender.org/
Or directly here http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.46rc/

Thank you JiriH,

So it looks like the “Blender 2.45 15 RINKI” panel IS in reality version’s 2.46 (I’m quite confused about that)… It is REALLY the same thing… right?
