Hello all,
I am in the progress of making the interior of the flat from the BBC “Sherlock” televisions series. It’s just in the beginning stages, but I need some criticism so I can fix any early on mistakes.
And some reference…
Thank you!
Hello all,

The chairs look far too modern and they’re disproportionate. Look closely at the chairs in the scene and I think you’ll see what I mean.
Find more images of chairs that look similar to those in the scene, ones where you can see more of the chair. Best approach would be to go to some antique stores and find chairs like these and ask if you can take pictures. Get plan, section and elevation images and bring them into Blender to use as guides.
BUT, the rest of the furnishing look pretty good and more-or-less correct for the era. The little table out front has very differently-shaped feet than what’s on-set, but perhaps that’s a choice you made on purpose.
@rontarrant
Thank you for your criticism. The chairs are a bit too disproportionate for the scene, and I did mess up on the table’s feet. I think I should have elaborated on the scene more. The series is set in modern day. I don’t think the images illustrated that fact very clearly. Here is another image to help show the chairs better. I’ll post an update soon.
Thanks again!
@varieti: That image is still pretty dark, so it’s hard to see what the chairs look like.
I didn’t realize this show was contemporary. When I hear ‘221 Baker Street’ I automatically assume Victorian times.
But even with all that said, the chairs in the first couple of photos you posted do look at least 1950s or older. You can’t sneak on-set and get your own photos, eh?
