But why make them in Blender, and, not with Inkscape for example?

Inkscape is an open source 2d vector art app. Very useful for this style of work, google it, I think youd’ love it. You basicly draw using curves. Its actually a very nice app, though not quite the calibur of Adobe Illustrator, I still prefer it.
Very intuitive use of Blender curves, I especially love the last one
