Fabulous! I slight marble texture on the cross would really finish this off nicely.

Thanks man! I’m glad i added it. I tried a marble texture but i couldn’t get the colors to work well together.

glad you like it

Wow I like it!
my comments:
The scale of the bump texture of the mud could be a bit smaller, make it more detailed.
The cross is certainly improved but looks still unfinished. The lighting and material are good, but it also could use some more detail, some modeling or maybe a texture.

-EDIT:
Oh I missed the last two posts, seemed like a texture for the cross was already recommended

Very nice BC2  i think something in the sky, maybe just a sun with a bit of lense flare would look awesome

The model is also on blend swap just to let you guys know  http://www.blendswap.com/blends/landscapes/mini-world-360-shot/

I uploaded a 1080 x 1920 image, somebody requested it as a wallpaper.

That link does not go to the full sized (1920x1080) image. Also, always use width X height, not height X width when talking about image dimensions.

it’s beautiful! In my opinion, a litle texture work on the cross would be nice.

Woops your right, Flickr didn’t upload the complete image, I’ll try to get that fixed. And your right about the demensions :stuck_out_tongue: I should have thought of that.

I was also able to finish a turntable animation. I’m missing a few frames on it. Something messed up. But I’m going to fix that soon.

Very nice planet. Are you planing on having stuff on the back of it?

not sure yet.

Love the concept, and you really have captured the cartoonish feel. Maybe add a couple of things to populate the dead space in the grass (rocks and such).

Thanks man! Biggest worry i have with rocks and dead stuff is render time. Any tips on optimization?

Best way to go when optimizing rocks is probably bump maps. You could go for some rough, displaced, low-poly spheres, then throw in a rocky texture and use nodes to apply a normal map. It’s an interesting process, but it’s only a few extra steps and can add a lot to your scene. Here’s a good tutorial:

I’ll look into it!

I decided to tweak the mini world just a biiiit more. I rendered it in 1920 x 1080 and added some blur around the edges for some depths. Not sure if i really like it or not. Let me know what you think of the blur. I also have a 1366 x 768 wallpaper.

I agree with Wolter on the mud! Great job other than that

I’ve tried, but i think i need to look at alternatives more in depth.
