3D Artist for cRPG set in the 1700s with lovecraftian themes

We’re a two-man indie dev team looking for someone to fill our gaps in artistic direction and asset-making. We’re making a cRPG set in late-18th century Antarctica with heavy Lovecraftian elements, and we’re looking for someone to help out in terms of aesthetics & visuals.

We’ve both been consistently working on the project for about half a year (with pre-production work going on for much longer). There’s quite a lot of written source material to work with, both in terms of lore/setting/narrative and existing games to look to for inspiration.

We’re both poor cs students, meaning we unfortunately can’t promise any monetary compensation beyond what the two of us is making (which is currently $0), but we’re of course angling for fair compensation for everyone involved. The “fair” part is very important to us; this is a passion project and we want everyone involved to feel ownership of the final product both in terms of feeling fulfilled creatively as well as not feeling ripped off or exploited.

We want to emphasize that we’re looking for someone to work with us, not for us. We’re not looking for an employer-employee setup, but a partner who is equal to us in passion and stake (and compensation of course). If this setup doesn’t appeal to you and you just want to get paid for the work and move on, that’s perfectly fine but not what we’re looking for.

If you’re interested, please send a DM and I’ll answer any questions and hopefully get you as excited as we are!

Hello there, I’m interested with your works. May I know whether is it hard surface or organic material modeller that you needed in your project?

We are mostly looking for hard-surface models (not many plants, the game is set in Antarctica), but there is of course a mix of both since there are people in the world as well. However, I would say that the visual fidelity we’re aiming for is low enough that we’re not really looking for any super detailed model work and/or animations. Visual worldbuilding is a much more central part of the role we’re looking to fill.

I’d love to work with you guys but since I’m a beginner user in blender, I’ll try to not be a hindrance . Here’s my contact; [email protected] and my discord, hezchlychadd

Good morning!
Your project sounds so interesting :>
Could you give more information about what would we need to do?
Like is it doing props, characters… either in 3D or in concept art too?

Hello! I seem to be unable to DM you (something with my account being a bit inactive I believe?), but if you’re comfortable with it you can add me on discord (or somewhere else you prefer) and I can give you some more details.

Sure  my discord name is : elliegarden
