3D Artist (Mecha Action RPG – Early Access Vertical Slice)

Overview:
We’re a small indie team developing an ambitious mecha action RPGfor Steam Early Access, fusing iconic, anime-inspired mech designs (influenced by series like Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans) with a dark, war-torn realism . Our upcoming vertical slice will spotlight the game’s moral dilemmas, high-intensity mech combat, and a grim colonial setting.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Model & Texture semi-realistic 3D assets (mechs, environments, props), blending rugged, battle-scarred surfaces with bold, streamlined silhouettes.
  • Greybox & Integrate your assets for a polished Early Access build—striking a balance between performance and atmospheric visuals.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead developer on level layouts, interactive hazards, and set pieces—ensuring consistent tone and cohesive gameplay flow.
  • Iterate & Innovate: We encourage fresh ideas to push the boundaries of how battered colony ruins and imposing mechs should look, feel, and function.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling/texturing for games (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, etc.).
  • Comfortable working on a part-time, rolling contract basis—delivering quality assets in milestones.
  • Eagerness to experiment with unconventional design approaches that marry minimalistic shapes to gritty detail.
  • A passion for mecha or sci-fi settings is a definite plus—bring your love of mechanical designs to life.
