Hello folks!
I am looking into 3D modeling for printing with Blender, but I could use some tips and tricks in regards to modeling based on the following types of sheets:
Setting precise measurements and diameters would be essential, possibly editing them after the fact.
Is this possible with base Blender 3.0, or any of its add-ons?
Or are there any other tools you would recommend looking into?
Yes, that’s possible with add-ons, some of which are included with Blender (you just have to enable them in Edit → Preferences → Add-ons), some you can download from external sources. There’s a very useful Youtube channel by the name of Maker Tales who has an entire free introductory course for both at the same time, precision modeling and Blender itself. Here’s his video listing the add-ons he uses in the course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9tbXF410SU&t=312s.
There also a brand-new add-on called CAD Sketcher, which looks very promising and is under very active development; @MakerTales has a recent video for it as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=941iYxf3HuM
