3D view display mode per viewport in 2.7

Hi;

I’m sorry, but what in the hell have they done with per viewport display? Now there’s only one toolbar for all viewports and everytime I switch to a display type, every viewport is affected. What do I need to do to turn the persp into rendered only?

Thanx

AJ

Now there’s only one toolbar for all viewports and everytime I switch to a display type, every viewport is affected
That sounds like Quad View. With the normal viewports you can have different display modes for each view window. I don’t see any difference in 2.7 than in previous blender versions.

OK, but that’s my problem… The quad-view vs, normal viewports… What a confusion they’ve created for christ’s sakes… So how do I get back to normal view?

Ok, I got what you meant by normal viewports. Switch to a single maximized viewport and subdivide it and you get the old blender “normal” independent viewports… But that’s what’s causing the confusion. If Blender now comes by default with the quad view, you automatically loose independent display per viewport… This is not up-stepping or revamping the interface, this is downright f**ng it up… Quad-view is step in the right direction, but they should have thought of how to enable users to have independent displays and etc. per every viewport in the quad-view…

press ctrl-alt-q one time it goes to quad view, press it again it goes back to single layout. Press shift-space bar maximize the view press it again and go back to normal mode… That’s been there for quite some time in Blender… No need to curse… just read this:
