3DMAX to Blender ?

there is only one reliable way: MAX->Collada->Blender, unfortunatelly, max is a closed format so only Autodesk products can read it reliably :frowning:

The only thing at work we can get from 3ds is .OBJ. Thanks for the COLLADA tip, I will tell my boss.

note that blender’s collada support is fairy incomplete, it still doesnt work well with armatures and animation :frowning: but meshes and most materials work great :slight_smile:
