Hey everyone!
I recently created some bolt alphas to use for Eat3d, and we decided to give them away for free as a small thank you for all the support
There are 110 Alphas in the pack and they are all 512².
You can get the alphas over the Eat3d thread
Enjoy!
Updated on 29th May 2012.
The pack has now been updated to include 60 new alphas, bringing the total to 110!
Right click the image and go View image to see the full resolution

Thanks, but for the record, you know that what you call alphas are bumps?

But in sculpting, like in Z-Brush they have been calling them alphas (see here http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/alpha/ ), but this is all semantics and we all know they’re bumps
No problem
Bumps? as in bump mapping?
I must admit, I have never heard them called bumps

No biggie, intresting nonetheless.
I am no zbrush user myself, didn´t kew it.
I wonder though how they came to name it that way.
Transparency -> Alpha value 0-255(0-1) -> Alpha map.
Bump/Height/Displacement -> z-axis displacement 0-255(0-1) -> Bumpmap.
In coding, render engines and most 3d packages I know that’s the common naming convention.
Then again, they call material shaders MatCap. =)

And objects tools… -.-
Which makes absolutely no sense.
Thank you, this is very useful!

Thanks for the alphas. Now …as a Blender noob, are these to be loaded in a specific folder in Blender?

no, you just have to add them as a texture, and then use this texture in the brush panel when you are sculpting

Thanks, V1K1ngo. I appreciate the quick response.
Nice one!
These will come in handy. Thanks!
thanks for sharing, these are awesome!
Thanks for the alphas,
-offtopic- bumps or alphas I think the are called alphas because the are alpha maps that you are apply to your brush as to control where it will sculpt with full strength or not. the are not texture maps you are applying to model.
